As part of the online concert/ documentary project, “Die Kunst in Österreich lebt weiter”, for pianist Donka Angatscheva, we traveled to Bulgaria to visit her hometown and interview people that influenced her in the early years of her career. Arriving at the Sofia Airport, we headed straight southeast to the historic city of Plovdiv. Considering it was the peak of summer in July, the weather was surprisingly cooler, which made our work more pleasant. I had never been to Bulgaria myself and I was glad to get to know a part of it.
